SPEAK IT RIGHT

A view of our school's assembly...

Our school's principal, Dr. Shirley Tay Siew Hong, is explaining to all the teachers and students regarding the SIR programme...

Senior Assistant for Students Affair, En. Indarah Madillah ended his speech with an idiom.

Senior Assistant for co-curriculur, En. Mohd Affendi Arifin also did his best to speak in English...

With the introduction of the MBMMBI policy, the Sabah Education Department has initiated a programme called 'Speak It Right' (SIR). To support this programme, our school has officially declared that every Friday throughout the year is 'Speak English Day'. Apart from this, every first week of the month , our school assembly will be conducted in English.
To further encourage and to create an English speaking environment in SMKBKK, the school has also drawn out guidelines to give rewards to students and teachers (non-English language teachers) who make effort to speak English. Many English language activities will be carried out throughout the year to enhance the use of English language in the school.
By doing this, it is hoped that English will be widely used by both teachers and students and at the same time the level of English proficiency will be improved.
